Sparkling Medium Fine Perry
This exceptional perry is made by Eric Bordelet in Charchigné, located in the heart of Normandy’s premier cider-producing region. Since taking over the small patch of family farmed orchards in 1992, Bordelet has focused on reviving ancient 'heirloom' varieties of pears and apples, which yield tiny quantities of fruit but deliver amazing flavours.
Working organically on his 23-hectare property, Bordelet dry-farms the fruit, preferring to work with small, highly flavoursome apples and pears. His perries and ciders are deliberately crafted in a gently sparkling pétillant style, offering less effervescence than many others.
This perry is wonderfully gastronomic, boasting a glorious nose of ripe pears and patisserie. It is refreshing and delicious, pairing beautifully with scallops, savoury crêpes, various salads, or even cheese. Eric Bordelet aptly describes it as a 'Poire de soif,' or thirst-quenching pear cider, making it perfect as an aperitif. Alc. 5%
