Discovery apples are among the first to ripen in the UK they brings us the signature taste reminiscent of sun-warmed strawberries and freshly spun candy floss, balanced by a bright, citrusy zing like lemon sherbet. Disco is celebrated for its captivating scent, characterized by gentle strawberry-tinged aromatics, and it develops a vivid, sun-blushed pink hue when ripe. Its juice also exhibits a soft pink color when fresh, which slowly fades with exposure to light and oxygen. 

Before becoming the beloved 'Discovery' apple—or 'Disco' as many affectionately call it-this gem started out as 'Dummer's Pippin' and 'Thurston August.' First cultivated in 1949 by Essex fruit worker George Dummer and later developed by nursery keeper Jack Matthews, this variety has come a long way since its 60s commercial release.
