Book Your Fine Cider Pairing Dinner at Tate Modern!

Join us on Friday, 17th April at 18.30 for an evening of seasonal Somerset produce paired with award-winning cyder.

For one night only, the team from The Newt in Somerset are coming to London. Taking over Tate Modern Restaurant Gelf Alderson, Head of Food at The Newt and formerly of River Cottage, joins Tate's Head Chef Tommy Boland for a banquet-style feast built entirely around what the Somerset land is giving right now. Expect generous sharing plates paired with cyder from The Newt's own orchards. A truly rare chance to experience The Newt’s Somerset larder in London.

This evening offers a wonderful early opportunity to explore the world of fine cider through one of our favourite producers ahead of our annual London Cider Salon in May.

The Newt's culinary philosophy starts in the soil. Everything prepared for this exclusive Tate Modern event is guided by the seasonal rhythms of their Somerset estate, utilizing produce that is grown, reared, and crafted on site. Guests will experience the estate's bounty, including crisp spring cabbages, aromatic wild garlic foraged from the land, and buffalo-milk cheeses produced from their own herd. The menu will proudly feature The Newt's heritage British White beef, a slowly raised, rare native breed that thrives on their lush pastures.

Each dish has been thoughtfully paired with a complementary cyder from The Newt, celebrating the craft, character and complexity of traditional Somerset cider making.
